A nice sighting during a walk Sunday on the beach just south of Leadbetter Farms (Long Beach peninsula)
was a couple of snowy plovers feeding just above the sanderling line. The refuge at Leadbetter point is
grading out some of the beach grass to improve nesting habitat for these. Although I have seen several
down in Texas, this was our first in Wash.
