Subject: [Tweeters] Longview STP -- Ruddy Ducks

Hi Tweeters,

There were 4 RUDDY DUCKS on the most Southeast pond of the Lonview Sewage
Ponds today (1/3/12). I find it easiest to scope this pond by walking out
the gated road on the dike between the slough and the STP. For any county
listers that want this species this has been a dependable winter spot for
years, but will disappear as the piping to the new self-contained plant is
nearly complete. Ruddy Duck can be quite scarce elsewhere in Cowlitz County.

RED-THROATED LOONS have been found a number of times in the county in the
last couple weeks, with 2 today in Coal Creek Slough which is the Northern
side of Willow Grove.
