For those looking for Murlets (Marbled and Ancients), the ferry ride from Port Townsend to Coupeville is now very productive. We saw 50 to 100+ Ancients this morning and a somewhat smaller number of Marbled. There were also large quantities of Common Murres as well as Red-throated, Common and Pacific Loons, Horned and Red-necked Grebes, Surf and White-winged Scoters. At the PT ferry dock were 15-20 Red-breasted Mergansers and a number of Common Goldeneye (120 reported yesterday but fewer this morning).
