Hello,

Wonderful news came today that two banded trumpeter swans, M35 & M36 have
been seen at Nisqually NWR. These are two males that were released at 11
months of age at Hicks Lake near Lacey, WA on May 2, 2011. They were a
cooperative experiment with The Trumpeter Swan Society and WDFW regarding
swan issues in the greater Olympia area. They learned to fly for the first
time after they molted this past July. Now they seem to be making their way
in the world.

If anyone has other sightings of these young travelers please send them to
me: Martha at trumpeterswansociety.org

Sightings of any collared swans are always welcome, these are just some
special guys who I raised from cygnets.
