Subject: [Tweeters] Okanogan, Nice Numbers of Rough Legged Hawks,

Hi,
We are camped out here in Omak (hotel actually), and spent the day
driving around Palmer Lake, and through the Highlands. We did enjoy good
looks an a nice number of Rough Legged Hawks; BUT were unable to locate any
of the birds I come to find every winter. There is hardly any snow. North
of Molson a small flock of what might have been Redpolls flew high and
fast, but I really have no idea, we had out windows up.
It is a huge disappointment to come out here and find so little. I have
not kept up on what is going on with other reports, as most are about the
Snowy Owls.
However, I was delighted to read about the Northern Hawk Owl tonight, so
we will head that way, and let you know what we find.
I also hope we get to spend time on Cameron Lake Road, and a few other
choice places, hoping to make up for today.

I would be interested in finding out if anyone has located any Redpolls, or
Pine Grosbeak and Rosyfinches in the Okanogan area.

Thanks, and happy birding to you all.
