probably of little interest except to those intrigued by genetics, there's
a recessive white rock pigeon (assuming that's the approved name of the
birds this week) in a flock of pigeons working the parking lot at the north
bend safeway. bird is all white w/ pink appendages but it has the
so-called 'bull eye'. i didn't realize there are several genotypes that
express as white birds in addition to true albinos. see, e.g.,
