Greetings All,
I stopped by Perry Creek today in the morning (0930) and Afternoon (1530). I also checked it out on the 2nd as there have been good numbers of gulls at the site. This AM, I estimated 450 gulls in the upper area (same as for 1/2/12). More gulls were present in the afternoon and I estimated 590 at that time. There were very few gulls in the lower area, west of Madrona Beach Rd. My best estimate of species break down is as follows (AM/PM): GW 75%; GW x We; 25%; Herring: 10/6+ (ad. 2yr, 1yr); GLAUCOUS 1/2 (1yr); Glacuous x Herring 1PM (1yr); Glaucous X GW 2/2 (1yr, 2yr); THAYERS: 1?/3 (all 1yr); Western: 1/2 (1yr). (Thayers can be harder than one might think at this location). Anyway a nice mix of species and plumages.
Good luck and good birding...

Bill Shelmerdine, Olympia
