Emporer Goose was found this morning in Ocean Shores. Check the golf course
between the fire station and the Big Yellow Hotel visible across the golf
course from the backside of the fire station In company of Cackling Geese
(minima and taverners, two White Fronted Geese. )



We counted nine owls on Saturday on the point. The winter storms have piled
enough sand up on the connecting area to the island (Damon Point) that 11.2
tides were not covering it. You shouldn't have any problems but check the
tides just to be certain.


I have stayed in several locations within the past year - Best Western had
the best views as its close to the beach. Lots of older hotels along the
main street -- Quality and Comfort Inns are both modern construction. I
have also stayed in the Gray Gull - not bad but its pretty dated, needs a
refresh.



Another Emperor Goose is down in Tualatin River NWR outside Portland,
Oregon.
