Birded Skagit and Snohomish today to try for some of the specialties seen
over the past week or so.

First stop was at 8:00am on Smaish Island to find the Redpolls. Found a
flock of 30+. This flock showed up at 8:15 at the bottom of the hill on
Blue Heron Dr. I got good enough views to id them as Common Redpolls and
they flew off over the hill to the west. About 30 minutes this flock showed
up again and came very close to my eye level further up the hill. I had 8
birds on one branch, one was a male Horary Redpoll. Less pink as compared
to a male Common right next to it, also had fine streaking. Great views of
a life bird for me.

Next stop was March Point for the buntings. No luck for me, but met someone
that had seen a few earlier in the morning.

Birded Washington Park , La Conner and Skagit Game Range - nothing of note.

Off to Stanwood for the Black Phoebe - still present and Black-crowned
Night-heron's - at least three seen at Josephine's.

Check Warm Beach for a Great Egret - none present.

Great day - got three of my targets and many other birds.
