Hi Tweeters. I meant to write this a few days ago. This past Monday 4 AM, while driving south on I-405, near exit 17 I saw in the median a Red-Tailed Hawk launching from a pole, hovering then swooping down to the ground to ambush some critter. This is a scene many of us have scene during daylight hours, but this was 3.5 hours before sunrise. The highway was certainly well lit at this location, enough for me to make a easy ID, even at 60 mph. Has anyone else seen diurnal raptors active at night? Thanks
