Greetings Tweeters,
?
Since I accidently had a day off today, John English and I made an early day run down to Woodburn, Oregon to try for the Brambling reported at a backyard feeder.? We arrived about 11:30 (OK, not THAT early) and by 11:45 the bird showed up for all of 3 minutes!? Wonderful sight!?
?
Thanks to Russ Koppendrayer's post, we took advantage of the location and stopped at Guild Road in the Woodland Bottoms to try for the Red-shouldered Hawk.? Hopes fell as we spotted a large Red-tailed clearly in possession of the territory.? But one dejected swing around the horizon nailed us the Red-shouldered, keeping a very low profile a good 400 yards from us on the other side of the road.? Not great light, but a lovely bird nonetheless.
?
Not a bad day!
?
-Peace, Rolan
