The Yellow-billed Loon was feeding in the marina at Ilwaco around noon today along with 2 Red-throated and 1 Common Loon. The tide was low and the loons were off from the boad docking area in the deeper water. Also had a Red-naped/Yellow-bellied Sapsucker along Hwy 4 just west (quarter of a mile) of the turn off into the refuge headquarters at Julia Bulter Hansen NWR. It had a very light colored belly, but didn't get the field marks quick enough to determine which species. Anyone birding the Wahkiakum Co. keep a look out for the odd sapsucker.
