I was once corrected by well-meaning eBird reviewer when I tried to enter
American Crows north of the border. However to keep my Washington and US
list conservative I chose to enter my Point Roberts crows as pure red, white
and black American. I am certain that all morphological, genetic and
behavioral evidence would support this scientific methodology. But I
thought that if I was a REAL competitive birder might I might just set up
near one of the customs stations and video tape some rare migrant crossings.
On second thought that might actually attract more interest from the
Homeland Security than the birding community.
