Tweeters,

Monday I found the Chelan northern hawk owl on Watson Plc (100 yards down
on right hand side) not two miles from my dads place.

Around 4pm I couldn't believe my eyes when the owl landed in a tree right
next to me and began to hunt in perfect light. With my 500mm lens and my
Nikon D300S pointed eagerly, the owl dove at the grass and emerged with a
vole only to land in a tree not 100 ft. away! I then intimately watched
and photographed as he tore apart and swallowed his meal and then took to
the wing. What a truly magical natural occurrence.

I also photographed a pygmy owl on Union Valley Road on the right side near
mile 6.5.
