Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday January 11. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

On January 16 a PARAKEET AUKLET was reported from Winchester Bay. The
Cornelius HARRIS?S SPARROW, the Portland Airport SNOW BUNTING, the Tualatin
River NWR EMPEROR GOOSE, the Corvallis BLUE JAY, and the Woodburn BRAMBLING
all continue to be reported. The Siletz Bay and Burns SNOWY OWLS are still
being seen.

Up to nine TREE SWALLOWS, six BARN SWALLOWS, and one VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW
are being seen at Johnson Pond near Coquille. A possible GYRFALCON was at
Alsea Bay January 14. On January 13 a YELLOW-BILLED LOON was in the boat
basin in Ilwaco.

Two TUFTED DUCKS are now being seen on the Columbia River off Marine Park in
Vancouver. One appears to be a hybrid. A flock of about 5000 SNOW GEESE were
on Sauvie Island January 14. On January 16 a male SURF SCOTER was on the
Willamette River near the Broadway Bridge in Portland. Among a swarm of
gulls along Hwy 233 near McMinnville January 17 were three GLAUCOUS GULLS
and one WESTERN GULL. On January 14, 26 WHITE-TAILED KITES were at the Royal
Avenue kite roost at Fern Ridge Reservoir. On January 13 a BARN SWALLOW was
in Roseburg. Three VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS were seen January 16 at Touville
Park in the Rogue Valley.

A BRANT was seen January 14 among the geese at the Deschutes River State
Park east of The Dalles. The next day 16 WHITE PELICANS, nine BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERONS, and a SCRUB JAY were at McNary Dam. The wintering finches and
sparrows continue to be seen in the Wallowa Valley. On January 17 a flock of
about 2000 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were in mid-town Enterprise.
