Wow, thanks for the alert which is the first I've seen or heard of this
incident. Great photo and beautiful animal, so it's definitely a Ribbon
Seal. Too bad all pinnipeds can't be quite so handsome. Seems odd local media
hasn't picked up on this (yet). It's kind of a big deal really assuming
it's not a hoax. Even a google search didn't turn up anything much more
than your link.
