Hello Tweeters,

The Townsend's Warblers that I got so excited about when they first showed up at my hummingbird feeder two weeks ago have become frequent visitors. From my observations, there's one at the feeder about every 5-7 minutes, occasionally with a second waiting nearby.

The feeder's "owner," an Anna's Hummingbird (of course) still seems mildly annoyed by the usurpation, but has become surprisingly acclimated, sometimes feeding simultaneously with the warbler:

And yet another interloper has been one of the many Chestnut-backed Chickadees who spend the day near my suet and sunflower feeders. He tends to stay at the hummingbird feeder for a much shorter time than the Townsend's Warbler, so it's been hard to get a good photo, but I was able to catch a picture briefly through the window as he drank during the snowstorm:

Off-topic, if there are other nest/den-cam fans out there, Jewel the black bear (a wild bear in a den near Ely, Minnesota) gave birth to two cubs this morning. Although on the camera you can mostly see only a big black bear butt, you can hear the babies squealing and cooing pretty much nonstop, sounding to my ear almost exactly like human babies. Hopefully sometime soon she'll get up and move around a bit and we'll get a glimpse of the newborns! Her cam is at:

Happy birding (and bearing) to all,
Trileigh
