Adam et al.,

On the subject of mammals in Washington, I saw a recent report of a BLUE
WHALE off the coast of Washington, apparently the first in a long while. I
suspect you could google to find the original note.

Gene.

Adam et al.,

Funny, I thought everyone knew about this! I'll have to get better about
sharing info from my multiple memberships. I first heard about it via the
Orca Network, both on their Facebook page and their regular listserv. Here's
the link to their Facebook posting, which I believe is public (i.e., you
don't have to have a Facebook account to view it):

Absolutely gorgeous creature...I'm so jealous of the anonymous person who
actually got to see it!

Cheers,
Trileigh

My wife just informed me of this. Has anyone heard of a Ribbon Seal being
photographed a mile from the mouth of the Duwamish?

I know this guy (or gal) doesn't have feathers, but it's an exciting visit
from a rare Arctic visitor nonetheless. "The ribbon seal hasn't been seen
again since it was first spotted last week." Keep your eyes open while
birding in West Seattle!
Adam
