Hello all,
After checking 9-Mile Canyon for redpolls (none) we headed for the Walla Walla River delta where Mike chummed for gulls - lots of Ring-billed, a dozen Herring, several Glaucous-winged, 1 adult and 1 subadult Western, 4 *GLAUCOUS GULLS (1 adult, 2 1st year and 1 2nd year) and 1 adult *LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL. After missing this species in WWCo. last year it was great seeing this bird!
We then chummed at 2Rivers HMU - close to 500 Ring-billed there with 5 pink-flushed birds. Several California, 50+ Herring, a dozen Glaucous-winged, 3 Western, 2 Thayer's and 2 *MEW GULLS - 1 adult and 1 2nd year.

9 Red-breasted Mergansers there today - lots of Horned Grebes as well.
Checked the Wallula Grain Terminal area for ducks - lots of Wood Ducks along with the usual diving ducks and coots. Many Horned Grebes and 1 Common Loon out in the river.
Poop piles were empty of birds today - saw no blackbirds.
