Subject: [Tweeters] Stanwood Snowy Owls MIA
A birding friend who was up at the Boe Rd. Snowy Owl vantage point today, reported the absence of any Snowies to the west of Thomle Rd./north of Boe Rd.? A Fish&Wildlife guy with whom he spoke, said they haven't been seen for 2 weeks.? A few birders he talked to, hadn't seen them recently, either.? My friend most recently saw 4 up there on Jan. 4 - he also saw 2 at Big Ditch that same day and I saw one at Big Ditch on Jan. 8.
There were a lot of hunters along Boe Rd. today and report of a lot of Bald Eagles in the nearby lowlands.
Any more recent sightings of Snowy Owls in that area or thoughts on their disappearance ?
