I saw two of these birds at Seward Park yesterday - black with red eye bands and very stocky feet.? They sat on this trash dumpster for a long time and were not disturbed by runners, cars, etc.? The only bird in my Sibley Field Guide that looked close to me was the red faced cormorant - can anyone confirm?? A picture (bad one from my cell phone) is attached - i have more as well.
