Hello Tweeters:
Apparently my report yesterday didn't go through.? Those still wanting to see the?EMPEROR GOOSE, KING EIDER?and SNOWY OWLS?can still do so easily. They were all there yesterday, Jan 23.? The goose was at the upper end of the golf course over on the west side, easily seen from the Ocean Shores Inn and Suites.? It is still with the flock of Canada Geese, White fronted (2) and one Cackling which Jerry Broadus reported on over a week ago.? The eider is at the road end at the entrance to?Point Damon.? Look west for the large flock of Scoters,?mostly SURF SCOTERS, WHITE WING SCOTERS (2) and (1) BLACK SCOTER.? The snowy owls are still making a good showing on out by the island at Pt Damon
?
Yesterday there was a huge storm surge at the south?jetty at high tide (12:30 PM) completely inundating the rocks with explosive waves and driving?birds in close for excellent viewing.? ROCK SANDPIPERS, SURFBIRDS?& BLACK TURNSTONES were in large numbers on the big driftwood logs that one usually climbs to get onto the jetty.
?
I had 45 species in just four hours.? It's well worth
