We will be going to the New Orleans Jazz Festival at the end of April....and staying a few days afterwards to do some birding. Anyone have any suggestions of some must see birding hotspots within perhaps ~100 miles of New Orleans. Please contact me off list at aceros at mindspring.com

although I would not turn my eyes away from any species, some of the target species that would be high on my list would be: Worm-eating warbler, Red-cockaded woodpecker, Brown-headed nuthatch, Yellow rail, Black rail.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Frodo: I wish none of this had happened.
Gandalf: So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. .... And that is an encouraging thought.
