Hello,

I am new to the list. I am new to being a bird watcher or shall I say,
starting to build more interest in them and planning trips to see specific
species. Luckily, I am going to be in Seattle next week (Monday -
Thursday). I would love to go up to Boundary Bay, BC to see them as I hear
there is quite a few up there, but I would rather find a location within WA
and closer to Seattle. However, driving is not an issue, and I am more than
willing to make the trip up to Boundary Bay if necessary.

In regards to the sighting report at Stanwood, Stanwood seems to be a
residential area if I am understanding correctly. Where do you park, walk
to, etc to see them? Are they typically along the waters edge area? I do
not know a whole lot about Snowy Owls, but am learning / reading more about
them. I see on a map that there is quite a bit of water in that area. And
how do I go about getting permission, or is there an area I can walk to
without trespassing on private property? This is my first time hearing of
Stanwood, so I have no idea what it is like there. Any help, advice,
suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Are there any other sightings of Snowy Owls in WA besides Ocean Shores and
Stanwood?

Thank you everyone so much for your help.

Regards,
Michele
