Tweeters,

Unlike Joe Meche and Barry Ulman, I DID see one Snowy Owl yesterday near the
tip of Sandy Point, during a brief visit late in the afternoon. It was on a
chimney top right at the very end of Sucia Drive when I arrived there, and I
was able to get some half-decent photos. After a few minutes, the owl took
off and disappeared. About 15 minutes later, I saw what was probably the
same owl on the other (south) side of the marina entrance. So there is still
at least one Snowy Owl in the area.

However, a far more reliable spot is in BC, at the south foot of 72nd Street
in Delta. Here, from the Boundary Bay dyke, only a few steps from your car,
you are virtually guaranteed to see between 15 and 25 Snowy Owls from one
spot. They have been there since late November and are likely to stay till
at least mid-March.
