This afternoon I checked for the NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD in Vancouver, Clark County. My wife and I got out of our vehicle and immediately saw the mockingbird in the cherry tree next to his favorite site, the tall round Holly tree in the backyard of 5405 NW Harney St. The bird was easily visible from the street. There are still a lot of berries on the holly despite the flock of AMERICAN ROBINs ravishing it. We checked the Vancouver waterfront for the previously reported Tufted Duck, but found no flocks of diving ducks at all. There were reports of good numbers of scaup across the Columbia River on the Oregon side. Wilson Cady
