Yo Tweets,
Spent a perfect (for January) day in the Port Angeles-Sequim area Friday 1/27. Highlights include:
NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD - 0815 - On Peabody between 10th and 11th in Port Angeles.
EMPEROR GEESE (2) - 1130(lower tide) - loafing on the gravel bar at the mouth of the Dungeness River. Good scope views looking west from the 3 Crabs parking lot. Far enough away that if I'd just scanned with binos I might have missed them. Lots of BB Plovers, Dunlin, Sanderlings, Brant, Am Wigeons and oodles of gulls in the area.
BLACK OYSTERCATCHER - 9 foraging together on the rocky shoreline at low tide at the north end of John Wayne Marina parking lot. The bay was devoid of loons.
MARBLED MURRELET - point blank views of winter plumage birds in the tide rips at Point no Point light. Also hundreds of Bonaparte's Gulls, a dozen Common Murres, & Pacific Loons, also a Eurasian Collared Dove.
