Hi Tweets, On Wednesday and Friday this week I decided to leave my cave for a little activity. It was great to get out and wander around a little bit. It was a little blustery on Wednesdy but the highlights fot the short time I was out were Redheads and Canvasbacks at Magnuson Park. They were located in the boat rental area of the park. On Friday between 8:00 am and 9:00 am in Magnuson Park myself and another birder were greeted in the same boating area by Trumpeter Swans, Tundra Swans and numerous diving and dabbling duck species. There were 5 Swans of which two were Tundra. The swans were very close to shore. The ducks were taking advantage of the swans large feet as they stired up the bottom for breakfast. Species seen were:Tundra SwanTrumpeter SwanCanvasbackWidgeonGadwallMallardScaup I think Greater (tough call for me) Ring-neckedCommon MerganserHooded MerganserPied-billed Grebe In Edmonds on Friday I spotted a Yellow-rumped Warbler, in with the driftwood and seaweed, at Brackets Landing.
