My husband and I just returned from BC. This morning we arrived at Boundary Bay (72nd St access) and spotted approximately 15+ Snowy Owls on the driftwood along the dike trail. There were more out in the wetlands. It's chilly out there, take warm hats and gloves! We later went out to Reifel and saw their Black-crowned Night Herons and the silly Sandhill Cranes, as well as some Redpolls with a Pine Siskin flock. On the way home we returned to Boundary Bay to catch the sunset, and there were 10 or more lively Snowy Owls still on the driftwood. There were more flying around than this morning. If you haven't yet seen these guys, and you want to see a Snowy Owl up close, make the trip. It's no more than an hour and a half north of Stanwood.
