Arden and I birded the highlands today, along with the Bjorkmans. Just after Havillah on Havillah Rd, we found 30 Common Redpolls and 300+ Snow Buntings in the large open fields on the other side the road. Less than a mile south of Molson on Molson Rd we had a Northern Goshawk. On Nealy Rd, just south of Mary Ann Creek Rd, we found 20+ Pine Grosbeak and a little further down Nealy we got 20+ Gray-crowned Rosy-finch in a yard that had a lot of buildings & trees. After a brief look at a Golden Eagle on Havillah Rd, we headed for Conconully. Just before Happy Hill Road we found 30+ Sharp-tailed Grouse feeding in trees beside the highway.
