I drove up from Portland to see the snowies at Damon pt on Saturday., arrived about 11:30 but did not notice any sign, had seen posting about one being put up early Saturday? Did I miss it, or did someone take it down??I parked where everyone was parking, and walked out on the right side, then came back on the?other side.?Anyway, saw perhaps total 10 owls, 5 at one time, a few in flight perhaps flushed by photographers.? Two flew toward me and?landed?pretty near me as I was contemplating how to get back, was looking with binocs and got good look at feathered legs/feet. There were plenty of admirers on a dry Saturday morning/afternoon.
Also saw Red breasted Merganser, White Winged scoters, and the King eider ( much thanks to the?birders who helped me locate the eider). Dipped on the golf course Emperor goose.
