Arden & I made the trip up Mt Spokane today since we were in town. It was sunny below and foggy as you further up the mountain. The lodge was fog covered and graters were working in the parking lot so we went back down a little ways until the graters started down the road. Back at the lodge parking lot the fog lifter some and we spotted a few birds fly into the top of a tree in line with the chair lift on the slope. There was 15-20 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS. They stayed in the top part of the tree as the group got larger then they all took off to the right down into the trees and we never saw them again.
