Hello Tweeters,

I am a keen Dutch birder currently living in Sweden, and will be visiting
Seattle for a course (SISG) from July 9-26.

I have both weekends in this period off, as well as some additional free
days, and am thinking of renting a car probably on both of these weekends.
At the moment I am looking for advice on several areas and species, and if
possible, for someone to join me during any part of my birding trips.

I would like to go birding in Seattle itself when I have parts of days off,
but also in several areas elsewhere in the state, in particular the eastern
slopes of the Rockies, the Columbia River and Plateau areas, and the
coastal area near Westport. All of this, which might of course be too much
given the time available, could get me some 60-70 lifers (after having
previously birded in the Great Lakes region and Central America).

I have found information on this mailing list and eBird that has given me a
good general idea where to see which species, but I don't know many
specifics, and do not have the Opperman site guide (is this available in
Seattle?). So I would be very grateful if anyone willing to give me some
advice, and/or to potentially join me for some birding, could contact me!
Just drop me an email and I will come back with specific questions.

Thanks in advance for any response,

Jelmer Poelstra
