The Fourth of July started out quietly, with cool and dry weather in
Capitol Forest. It was actually deserted until the first dirt bike
showed up at 9:45 a.m. By that time I was ready to head for home.
Highlights included a male HERMIT WARBLER, ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS
bringing bugs back to the nest, a pair of BAND-TAILED PIGEONS, a
couple of WILLOW FLYCATCHERS, and a WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE.

Happy Independence Day to all,
