Birders,



On the morning of Monday, July 2nd, I went looking for and found one of the
2 singing NORTHERN PARULAS in Columbia Park, Kennewick. This one was in the
abandoned campground (sign says "under construction", but no construction is
evident) located about 0.5 miles west of the "Camp Kiwanis" building. I
presume this is near where Scott Atkinson first found the bird. The warbler
was singing quite persistently from sycamores in a section of the campground
just SW of the former office building. At one point, it sang from the same
perch for about 5 minutes, giving good binocular views. Number 396 for my
Washington state list!!



I also spent some time looking for the other NORTHERN PARULA reported near
the Camp Kiwanis building, but had no luck there. So maybe there is only one
bird now in Columbia Park instead of two. I was very happy to find the one
bird!



Many thanks to all the birders who have provided frequent updates on the
Northern Parulas. I was travelling and didn't have a chance to visit
Kennewick until Monday.
