Subject: [Tweeters] Fill today

Hey tweets, the Fill has been rather quiet lately, but today the quiet
was broken by the squawks of two (!) Common Nighthawks. One was flying
over Water Lily Cove and disappeared to the east shortly after dawn.
The other, I think, is roosting somewhere in the alder grove. I heard
it calling numerous times from somewhere in the woods there or in the
swamp nearby. If I can stay awake until dusk tonight (by no means a
sure thing!), I will head back to see if it comes out to hunt in the
crepuscular gloaming. You can never get enough of Common Nighthawks,
you know, even when the ones of this morning were out with the full
moon in a blue sky, as wisps of mist hung over the water. Oh, what a
planet we live on. - Connie, Seattle
