I believe there was a pair of marbled murrelets at the Mukilteo ferry dock this afternoon as I departed for Clinton on the 4:30 boat. The birds were small (in comparison to some nearby pigeon guillemots) and sooty all over with flecks of white on back and rump, and had thin dark bills. They showed the posture that Sibley calls "relaxed", but were actively diving.
