Notable changes include:

Bryan's Shearwater is accepted as a valid taxon.

Xantus's Murrelet is divied into two species: Scripps's Murrelt and
Guadalupe Murrelet.

Gray Hawk is divied into Gray Hawk and Gray-lined Hawk.

Generic changes in the nightjars, Calliope Hummingbird, some wrens, Sage
Sparrow and House, Cassin's and Purple Finches.

Falconiformes and Psittaciformes are moved to precede the Passeriformes.

Rearrangement of the Trochilidae.

Galapagos Shearwater is split from Audubon's Shearwater.
