Tweets - last weekend I was over at Trout Lake and Conboy NWR on a botany
trip, but I managed to find a few birds in the limited time I had for
birding.

On Friday morning, we went over to Conboy NWR where I was able to hear the
INDIGO BUNTING sing, and I got a couple of glimpses of the bird. Definitely
a metallic indigo color, but I would have loved some better looks. It came
in briefly when I played the iPod, but then fled from view. It sang again
later but never showed itself. It was in the aspen grove north of the house
closest to the grove.

Saturday morning, I visited Trout Lake. From Lake Rd., just as I got to the
water, I heard and saw a VEERY in the willows. There were also Swainson's
Thrush in the area. A WILLOW FLYCATCHER was singing from across the water.
>From Trout Lake Creek Rd., near the last houses, I heard a RED-EYED VIREO
singing. I also watched a VAUX'S SWIFT drop into the chimney of the last
house just as a rain squall hit - I've always wondered what they do when bad
weather strikes in the middle of the day...
