Tweeters,
I was surprised to have a very late Red-eyed Vireo singing up a storm at my
Battle Ground, Clark County yard yesterday morning. This is the latest
record of REVI for my yard to date (previous date range was June 26-July
7). As with all the previous 5 records, the bird continued northward after
about 15 minutes.
I visited Ridgefield NWR early yesterday morning with the following results:
Greater Yellowlegs 18
Lesser Yellowlegs 7
Killdeer 35
Wilson's Snipe 8
Long-billed Dowitcher 50
Least Sandpiper 65
Western Sandpiper 20
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER 2
Semipalmated Plover 3
In Canvasback Lake (across from the entrance to the Kiwa Trail), the wader
concentration continues:
Great Egret 80
Great Blue Heron 40
Keep your eyes and ears pointed....everywhere.
Jim
