Susan and I birded our home county on Saturday, July 21, attempting to add a few year birds to my list. Shorebirds are hard to find in Skamania County but, there were two SPOTTED SANDPIPERS and two LEAST SANDPIPER on the mudflats at the mouth of Rock Creek at Stevenson. We then drove up through Trout Lake on Forest Road 80 following directions given by Warren and Kiyomi Walker to where they had found a WILLIAMSON'S SAPSUCKER last year. We finally were able to get good views of a male about a half of a mile north of the Wicky Creek Shelter on FR 8040, a new county bird for me. Wilson Cady
