Subject: [Tweeters] Little Gull - Hoquiam STP

Hi Tweets,

A Little Gull was on the Hoquiam STP this afternoon toward the east
end of the large pond. It was by itself, turning and bobbing like a
phalarope. With the large black ear spot, my first thought was a basic
plumage Bonaparte's Gull. But the smoky gray cap and slightly smaller
size distinguished it as a Little Gull. July, even late July, makes
this an unusually early sighting. Although I did not see it fly, this
bird appears to have a dark wash to its upper wings.
