Update: The Havillah Snowy Owl is being taken care of at Okanogan Wildlife League (OWL) in Oroville, WA. More details available at their Facebook page. It it sounds like a WDF biologist captured the bird which was weak, dehydrated and emaciated. OWL was going to stabilize the bird with fluids, etc. then find a place where he can be safely housed until winter. It's great that OWL is in Okanogan and is able to assist with ill and injured birds and other wildlife. Hopefully this Snowy Owl has a good outcome and can be safely released at some point.

Dear Tweeters,

We found the owl at the side of the road on Saturday due to another couple who knew its exact location.? This couple?reported the snowy owl as "not acting quite right."??When?Jeff, a wildlife biologist,?tried the first time to capture the owl, it flew low into a field across the street.? The owl was captured a while later in the tall grass across the street.? It was taken to a rehab center.? ?Hopefully the owl will recover from whatever seems to be the matter.?

I love to share the world with birds and people who love birds.

Marie
