Today, my husband Mark and I headed west of Ephrata on Sagebrush Flats (1st Ave in the city). This road becomes Moses Coulee Road, after the RimrockMeadows area. Several miles before this road crossed highway 2, a Ferruginous Hawk was seen, slowly flying over the road heading to the cliffs. Crossing Highway 2 directly into Nature Conservancy property, we encountered four Loggerhead Shrikes, two of which were paired up. Then we encountered more on the road which veers right of Jameson Lake. It was a pretty tough road after a while, as our Toyota RAV is now knocking badly. Which means I am in trouble.
Happy birding to all,
