I live on Monte-Elma road near the famed Monte-Brady Loop Rd..... Our yard has regularly been visited over the years by large flocks of red winged black birds in early spring and later in the fall. During the nesting season the visiting red wings arrive in pairs and with fledglings... Yesterday there were 6 redwings and one yellow-headed blackbird. When I fist "spied" the yellow head amongst the red wings I thought that I misinterpreted what I saw...I confirmed my sighting with other in the home...Looks to be an immature female yellow-headed black bird hanging. Distinctive yellow head amongst the blacker colors makes for an unusual sighting.
