The birding was great in the Upper Skagit today. Best of all was a
singing EASTERN MEADOWLARK in Marblemount. I had nice scope views
including the white malar and tail/wing patterning. Unfortunately the
bird was on private land. Hopefully I'll get the photos up in a day
or two.

This afternoon in a big patch of scotchbroom to the west/north of the
gravel parking area in Newhalem there was a female HOODED WARBLER and
while I was trying to get a better view a CLAY-COLORED SPARROW hopped
into view.

Elsewhere the Veeries and American Redstarts are back at the Agg Ponds
along with several Red-eyed Vireos. A Western Kingbird was along
Martin Road with eight more in fields around Marblemount. Diablo had
three Mourning Doves, a Red-eyed Vireo, four MacGillivray's Warblers
and a Chipping Sparrow. There was also a single Chipping on Martin Rd
and four more in Newhalem.
