Hi everyone,
Mike Denny called me this morning after our field trips departed from Spokane about an Eastern Phoebe that he found with his group at the Rosalia STP. My group headed south around noon in the wind and rain to try to relocate the bird. After nearly giving up, a lull in rain and wind provided with us a window to play for the bird. Immediately, the Eastern Phoebe came from an unknown direction and landed on the north side of the bridge that is just west of the STP. It sang its very unique song several times for us and I managed a couple of long-range photos. Other birders are enroute or there now looking. An outstanding life bird for me - thanks to the Dennys for putting the word out!
