Greetings All,
Yesterday, June 10 I birded the ponds at Midway beach from about 0600 to 0700. A WESTERN KINGBIRD was foraging at the north end of the wetlands. Other notable sightings included Blue-winged Teal (male), American Bittern, Sora, Virginia Rail, and a single Greater Yellowlegs. Not much in the way of shorebirds along the coast right now, with none seen on the open beach, and nothing in the Tokeland area (although we hit the tides totally wrong). On Friday, June 8 there were 3 Snowy Plover on the beach at the south end of Grayland Beach State Park.
Good Luck and good birding,
Bill Shelmerdine, Olympia
