Thanks to Anne Marie Wood's post, I bopped down to the Everett waterfront this morning at 8am and spotted 20 Whimbrel on the mudflats north of the 10th street boatlaunch. They're the first I've seen down there this year, although I did see 25 flying over Spencer Island on(5/10). In my experience, such as it is, Whimbrel are regular here, usually in May, but never too common.

This sure seems to be Spring of the Whimbrel in the Puget Sound area based on all the reports on tweeters - a lot more than I've ever heard of!
