Hello all,
After dipping on the Eastern Kingbirds that were reported around
Spencer Island the last few weeks I made a shot at seeing the
Whimbrels That Ann Marie Wood found and Jeff Gibson has faithfully
been keeping tabs on. I waited around for about 45 minutes while the
tide went down before 19 Whimbrels flew in right at 6pm from the
direction of Jetty Island and began feeding very close to the northern
pull off Jeff described previously. Also notable was Merlin that flew
by Jeff and I while we were waiting on the main act. For what it's
worth, they arrived approximately 3 hours after the last high tide and
1.5 hours before the next low tide.
